History
The Hoboken Citizens Club was founded by three Italians: Guiseppe Capece, Guiseppe Pillarella, and Felice DeCesare. They lived in the so-called Hoboken District of Milford which is the Southeasterly part of town. Hoboken was the section of town where emigrants from Casalvecchio, Italy and surrounding towns, selected to live.

The Hoboken Citizens Club opened on Feb 4, 1930 on Beach Street with Rico Ferrucci serving as its first president. For a number of years the club met on Hayward Street until they outgrew those quarters. Plans were then made for a new building on Central St which is the club’s present location. The cornerstone was laid at 252 Central Street on July 4th 1937 and The Hoboken Club officially opened on July 4th 1939.
Over the years, the membership has grown substantially at the Hoboken Citizens Club and Auxiliary. Their many contributions include community involvement, charitable donations, sponsoring of town sports, and scholarship awards.
